Stanley Tucci: "Everyone was just in awe"

Stanley Tucci, who plays Maestro Cadenza in Beauty and the Beast, briefly spoke about his time on set during an appearance at Wizard World Con in Philadelphia. According to Tucci, the set made him "feel like a kid again" and had a lot of practical elements, including hundreds of candles that were lit by hand for each take.


The Beauty and the Beast teaser trailer gave fans their first look at Tucci's character, Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord, who is a new addition the the Beast's enchanted castle.

Trivia Tuesday- AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs

In 2004, the American Film Institute (AFI) revealed its list of the top 100 songs in American cinema with "Beauty and the Beast" appearing at no. 62 on the list. Five other Disney songs, including "When You Wish Upon a Star" from Pinocchio and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins, are also featured on the list. One additional song from Beauty and the Beast, "Be Our Guest," was among the four hundred nominees considered for the top 100 spots.

Stanley Tucci brings a new character to the cast of 'Beauty and the Beast'

If news of Ewan McGregor joining the cast of Beauty and the Beast was not enough excitement for one day, Disney also announced a brand new character featured in Bill Condon's live-action adaptation of the animated classic.

Variety reports Stanley Tucci will star as a grand piano named Cadenza, who is described as a "neurotic maestro." Tucci previously worked with director Bill Condon on The Fifth Estate, which also starred Dan Stevens (Beast).

Beauty and the Beast is set for release on March 17, 2017.
