WATCH: Good Morning America debuts two new clips of "Gaston"
Luke Evans stopped by Good Morning America this morning to discuss Beauty and the Beast and his role as Gaston. The segment also featured two clips of Evans and Josh Gad (LeFou) performing "Gaston" in the film.
In the film, the song features previously unused Howard Ashman lyrics, which composer Alan Menken discussed with Entertainment Weekly last fall:

In the film, the song features previously unused Howard Ashman lyrics, which composer Alan Menken discussed with Entertainment Weekly last fall:
“In ‘Gaston,’ we had a treasure trove of lyrics that Howard had written that we did not put in the movie,” Alan Menken tells EW. “In many cases they were a little bit risqué — not risqué sexually, but risqué in terms of sensibility. We all felt ready to have these lyrics. When Bill found out about those lyrics, he said, ‘Oh my god, can we please look at that, because it would be a wonderful way to add an extra freshness to the movie.’ So, yes, you’re going to hear some unheard Howard Ashman lyrics.”

New 'Beauty and the Beast' trailer debuts tonight during 'The Bachelor'
Whether you are a beast or a bachelor, a rose is essential to your romantic arsenal until the last petal falls (or the last one is handed out).
On January 30th, Beauty and the Beast and The Bachelor will join forces for a special episode of the ABC show hosted by Josh Gad (LeFou) and Luke Evans (Gaston). A new Beauty and the Beast trailer will also debut during the episode.

“One of the great things about the animated film is the blend of romance and classic fairytale telling as well as a bit of humour and fun and that’s something we’ve really tried to maintain in this, the romantic side as well as the silliness,” Stevens explained.Read more from Contact Music here.
“I hope that we will do justice to the love that people have for the animated film and people feel like we’ve taken it on, moved it on a bit, brought something fresh to it, brought I few new songs to it.”
“Something that Bill (Condon, director) and I were really keen to bring out was the sense of this petulant, spoiled child and the sense of sort of entitlement that led to his downfall,” Stevens said.
“It was interesting to introduce that element and see that through and thread it though the Beast’s story and see him cursed not just for having refused a rose, but for all his other traits that he could be damned for,” he added.

"Physically, the Beast is the most challenging role I've taken on," Stevens told IGN at the 2017 winter TV Critics Association press tour, where he was promoting Legion. "The condition I had to have my body in to puppeteer that suit on stilts was like nothing else I've ever experienced, seriously. The kind of engagement -- and actually a lot of dance involved in that role, albeit on stilts; it was a very, very intense dance training process -- has gotten me more physically engaged with all of my performances in everything else since."Read more from IGN here.
'I've not done much comedy in my career, not for the want of trying, and this was my chance to do it', he explained. WATCH: First 'Beauty and the Beast' TV spot
As we head into the new year and barrel towards March 17th, we will begin to see more and more of our favorite timeless tale. This started this weekend with the first tv spot for Beauty and the Beast, which aired during the Disney Christmas Day parade special.
The extended tv spot was introduced by the film's core cast, including Emma Watson (Belle), Dan Stevens (Beast), Luke Evans (Gaston), and Josh Gad (Le Fou). The spot itself included footage from the second teaser trailer with just one new shot of Belle in the library.

New images of Belle, Beast, Gaston & more
Are you sitting down? No? Well, you might want to before taking a peek at eight new images from Beauty and the Beast. The new images are courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, which will also feature Belle and Beast on the cover of this week's issue.
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Emma Watson who really, really, really loved Disney’s 1991 animated classic, Beauty and the Beast. “I can’t even think how many times I watched it as a child,” says the former Harry Potter star. “I knew all the words by heart. I knew all the songs by heart.”
For this week’s cover story, EW visited the film’s U.K. set and spoke with all of the above, as well as director Bill Condon and costume designer Jacqueline Durran, who talked about creating the new version of the iconic yellow dress Belle wears in the original film’s ballroom scene. In addition, we chatted with Ewan McGregor, who voices the enchanted, “Be Our Guest”-performing candelabra Lumière, and Sir Ian McKellen, who plays the clock Cogsworth and was apparently desperate to get his own big production number. “I kept singing what I thought would be a rather good addition to the score,” says the X-Men franchise star. “‘My name is Cogsworth!/ And I’m a clock!/Ticktock!’ But I didn’t get my own song.”

QUESTION: I’m a sophomore film major here t LMU. And I was wondering how do you approach a character like Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast? That was originated in an animated feature.
MCGREGOR: You just approach every character like it’s a brand new thing, it’s a new clean slate. The fact that it’s been done before is neither here nor there really or me. I mean I think if they wanted to just that character again, that’s not true because he sort of did create that character. I don’t know the answer to your question. [LAUGHTER] I just approach it like I would everything else. I mean I didn’t spend time watching the original animation and trying to make my Lumiere like that. I mean I must have seen it in the past. And I got a very strong sense of who he was from the script. And I assume that the script was this version of this film we were making, not the animation. And so I sort of made him like that. But the nice thing about Lumiere and in this case was that I got to do it several times. He is animated in most of the film and then at the end, when we’re released from the curse, it’s me. And that meant I was allowed to record all of the dialogue just fresh. And then I was able to do it again. The challenge was the French accent because they wanted a sound. They didn’t want me to do the French R sound. And when you take the R sound out of French accent, and you just replace it with an R, it sounds Mexican. [LAUGHTER] So I had to try...
GALLOWAY: Did you speak French?
MCGREGOR: My wife’s French. I mean I speak a bit of French but I’ve lived amongst French, you know, most of my adult life. But I found that a bit of a challenge. So anyway, we went back and we re-recorded it all again and I’m happy to say it sounds a bit more French though.

First look at Luke Evans and Josh Gad in 'Beauty and the Beast' & more behind the scenes photos
Disney has been relatively stingy with what they have released from the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. Besides the teaser trailer and a few behind the scenes photos, fans seen very little of the film...until now.
The upcoming 25th anniversary Blu-ray/ Digital HD release of the animated classic is not available until next month, but some lucky fans had early access to the new special features, including a sneak peek of the live-action film, through iTunes. According to a thread on Blu-ray.com, the featurette runs 1:23 and showcases "mostly a table read with the cast, B-roll of the sets and a few costume sketches with Bill Condon narrating."
Photos have also surfaced from the sneak peek, including our first look at Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as Le Fou in the Tavern. There are also images of Dan Stevens as the Prince, Luke Evans and company rehearsing "Gaston," as well as costume sketches, concept art of the enchanted objects, and more.
The 25th anniversary edition of Beauty and the Beast will be available September 6th on Digital HD & Disney Movies Anywhere and September 20th on Blu-ray. Find out more about the upcoming release here.

Josh Gad on sharing 'Beauty and the Beast' with his children
Josh Gad is no stranger to family fare, voicing the beloved snowman Olaf in Frozen and taking part in this summer's The Angry Birds Movie. In a new interview with The Straits Times, Gad talks about making movies with his children in mind and his experience bringing them to the set of Beauty and the Beast.

"When I was shooting a movie in London, she heard me recording Olaf's voice for another kid - she put two and two together and started howling, she was so tickled by it. And so now my nightly ritual is I say goodnight to her and then I give her a warm hug as Olaf. I don't know if she thinks if I'm an egomaniac for doing that, or just like laughing because she's like, 'Oh god, that's so embarrassing, why are you doing this?' But it seems to really tickle her in a way that's wonderful to share with her."
So when he chooses his movies now, "I always try to do one for me, one for them". "That why I'm doing Beauty And The Beast," he says of the upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney's 1991 animated musical, which stars Emma Watson and Dan Stevens and is due out next year.
When Gad was filming his role as the sidekick LeFou, his girls "were getting a chance to walk around these majestic sets where they're basically being transported to the beast's castle and that's a movie that's very familiar to my older daughter.
"So I definitely try to choose movies like Angry Birds or Frozen so they don't have to wait to grow up to see them."
