'Beauty and the Beast' to begin production in May

News of Dan Stevens and Luke Evans joining the cast broke earlier this week and it seems there is just a bit more Beauty and the Beast news to report before the week comes to an end. Collider recently spoke with producer Todd Lieberman, who was forthcoming with new information about the project, including the start of production. According to Lieberman, Beauty and the Beast is set to begin filming on May 18th in London.

From Collider:
We’re starting to shoot Beauty and the Beast for Disney and Allegiant on the same day, May 18th. Beauty and the Beast we’re wildly excited about. That’s shooting in London. We’ve got Emma Watson, we’ve got Bill Condon directing, and Stephen Chbosky wrote our script. It’s really fun, and we couldn’t be happier about that. And we have Allegiant
On the Beauty and the Beast update, Lieberman also said the film stick to a “classic” approach to the material, but will introduce “new elements” and new characters.
Several recent Disney live-action features were also filmed in England, including Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, Cinderella, Into the Woods, and Maleficent.
